He pointed out that as the competition gets tougher towards the end of their career, with young drivers taking the spotlight, the veterans often start to lose their hunger. The ex-McLaren driver says that with the situation Hamilton is in right now, a Ferrari move is not a possibility.
“I know Lewis’ head is not 100% in racing anymore. It’s completely normal. But does money motivate? Of course it does, but there are many risks involved. I think it’s highly unlikely he will join Ferrari. I always say that when people get older, the order of their thoughts changes,” Hakkinen told UNIBET.
