Vicky Kaushal is all set for his highly anticipated film, Chhaava. Produced by Maddock Films, this upcoming historical epic will see Vicky stepping into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji. And if the latest buzz is anything to go by, the Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer, Chhaava, has caused a shuffle in the release dates, leading to the postponement of Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi’s film, Pooja Meri Jaan.

According to a report from Mid-Day, Pooja Meri Jaan, originally slated for a November release this year, has now been pushed to 2025. A source mentioned in the portal stated that the film starring Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi holds a special place for producer Dinesh Vijan as it delves into a genre Maddock Films hasn’t explored before.

The decision to push Pooja Meri Jaan’s release to early 2025 was made by Vijan, considering the major releases lined up in the next few months, including Vicky Kaushal’s much-anticipated project. The team behind Chhaava is determined to generate the right kind of buzz and promotions for the ambitious biopic.

As for Pooja Meri Jaan, the makers felt it deserved its own spotlight without being overshadowed by other big-ticket releases, like Varun Dhawan’s Baby John scheduled for Christmas. Therefore, the choice to delay the film until next year felt like the right move.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Mrunal Thakur expressed her pride in being a part of Pooja Meri Jaan. She revealed that she landed the role through intense screen tests, readings, and auditions, signing the project on the final day of her work on the 2022 film, Sita Ramam.

Directed by Navjot Singh Gulati, Pooja Meri Jaan reportedly tackles the sensitive subject of stalking, promising to offer a unique and thought-provoking narrative.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Prakash Raj, Divya Dutta, Ashutosh Rana, and Neil Bhoopalam. An adaptation of the Marathi novel, Chhava, this film is set to captivate audiences with its grand storytelling and powerful performances.
