As Season 4 of Outer Banks hit Netflix, Jonathan Daviss took a moment to reflect on his journey alongside Madelyn Cline, his co-star on the show. Known for his role as Pope, Daviss, in a recent chat with People magazine, opened up about the evolution of his friendship with Cline over the three seasons they’ve worked together.

Despite their off-screen camaraderie, Daviss confessed that he hadn’t shared many solo scenes with Cline in the past. So, when the opportunity arose in the latest season, he was thrilled to finally have that one-on-one time with her on screen.

“It was a blast,” Daviss shared enthusiastically. “Madelyn and I are super tight; we hang out all the time, and we both realized we never had those intimate duo scenesโ€”just the two of usโ€”before.” Their chemistry shone through in the last episode of Season 4, Part 1, where Pope and Sarah Cameron, portrayed by Cline, find themselves in a tight spot under a church, hunting for clues to Blackbeard’s treasure.

In a heart-to-heart with the media, Daviss couldn’t contain his excitement about the experience. “Working with Maddie in that scene was a joy. Our friendship translated effortlessly on screen, making it a breeze to bounce off each other’s energy,” he explained, beaming.

Not everything was smooth sailing, though. Daviss spilled the beans on a particularly challenging scene where he and Cline had to navigate through sewage pipes, surrounded by dirt and rats. Amidst the chaos, they both realized that this was their first time filming solo scenes together, adding an extra layer of significance to their on-screen connection.

As fans eagerly devour the first part of Season 4, Daviss hinted at more surprises in store as the remaining episodes are set to drop on November 7. The dynamic between Pope and Sarah, now solidified through shared challenges and adventures, promises to captivate audiences even further.
