Representing himself in court, Taylor responded to Cartwright’s initial filing in August, expressing his desire to divide their shared LA home at a later date, as revealed in legal documents obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 2.
In a statement issued by a representative for the former couple, it was revealed that they had already settled all matters concerning their son’s custody. They are committed to working together privately for Cruz’s well-being, acknowledging any legal missteps made by Taylor due to his lack of expertise and promptly rectifying them.
Cartwright initiated the divorce proceedings, citing irreconcilable differences and setting January 24 as the date of their separation. Their love story began in 2015 and culminated in a fairytale wedding at a castle in Kentucky in 2019, immortalized in part on Vanderpump Rules before their departure from the show after season 8 in 2020. The announcement of their split just before their reality TV return via The Valley sparked speculation among fans about the authenticity of their relationship struggles.
Despite rumors, Cartwright clarified on their podcast, When Reality Hits, that their decision to part ways was not a publicity stunt. She shared that filming the upcoming season of the Bravo series has been emotionally taxing, hinting at deeper revelations about her divorce from Taylor.
