The BMF title holds a special place among the fight fans. Since its inauguration, it has been passed on to some of the most lethal fighters in the history of UFC. Currently, former featherweight champion Max Holloway has the prestigious belt. However, Dustin Poirier plans to capture it and CEO Dana White is excited about this new development.

Dustin Poirier has been unsure about retiring after his defeat at UFC 302. The veteran recently discussed a four-way competition for the BMF championship. The ‘Diamond’ claimed that this kind of challenge makes him want to return for his last dance. When questioned about the idea, White responded in a way that was largely positive.

Sounds fun. Never thought about it but yea I love it.

Other than Holloway and himself, Poirier suggested top lightweights Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker to take part in this tournament. According to DP, a brutal tournament with multiple fights in one night captures the essence of BMF. In the UFC, the BMF championship is a representation of tenacity and spirit of battle.

Fighters like Dustin Poirier, Dan Hooker, Justin Gaethje, and Max Holloway are embodiments of this and are the ideal contestants for this opportunity. In the ever-changing world of MMA, each fighter brings their own style and will to the octagon. This guarantees that the BMF title goes to the ‘Baddest Motherf****’ in the roster.

Dan Hooker is ready for the wild BMF four-way clash

Dan Hooker is well regarded as one of the toughest fighters in the UFC. The Kiwi fighter, like every other on the list, has given some of the most brutal wars in recent times. He and Poirier have previously fought in 2020 in a fight that remains iconic to this day.

Hooker is currently on a great winning streak and is gunning for the lightweight title. The Kiwi fighter also showed intentions to fight the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor. However, he’s ready to drop all that in order to participate in the BMF tournament.

Aside from Hooker, Justin Gaethje, the previous BMF title owner, hasn’t competed since suffering a crushing defeat at UFC 300. If Gaethje is knocked out in a fight again, he might consider quitting the sport. Fans, though, are optimistic about his willingness to take part. It will be intriguing to see Holloway’s reaction as he prepares for his title match at UFC 308.
