After her loss to Raquel Pennington, Mayra Bueno Silva went on to fight Macy Chiasson at UFC 303. That ended in a doctor stoppage after a brutal elbow from Chiasson. The elbow in the second round caused a severe cut on Silva’s forehead. This prompted the referee to step in and call a timeout. Following the doctor’s evaluation, the fight was stopped, awarding Chiasson a TKO victory.
On the other hand, Pennington has been slated to defend her title against Julianna Pena at UFC 307. A rematch could become possible in the future, depending on how Pennington’s title defense turns out later this month.
