Brendan Allen is currently on a seven-fight win streak and is eager to get the UFC middleweight title shot. The #8 fighter will be fighting Nassourdine Imavov this weekend at UFC Paris and is confident about getting another victory. According to Allen, with this win, he would be next in line to fight the winner of Dricus Du Plessis vs. Sean Strickland.ย

Brendan Allen is one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC middleweight division and has given fans some interesting bouts. His last fight was against Chris Curtis earlier this year which was an absolute war. In a recent interview, Allen mentioned that he wants to fight Dricus Du Plessis and win the UFC gold soon.ย

My ultimate goal would be the winner of the belt. Whoever is fighting for the belt next, I think it’s Sean and Dricus. I’m the new blood, I’m the youngest guy in the top. Me and Dricus have the longest win streaks in the division. So, one of our win streaks gotta end.ย

Irrespective of any official announcement, DDP and Strickland are expected to run it back later this year. On top of that, thereโ€™s the potential title eliminator between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308. However, Allen believes that he deserves the title shot more than anybody else in the division.ย

Allen remarked that the narrative supports his position as the top title challenger, with the main disadvantage being his lack of fan base. However, the fighter claimed that it would not matter since he would put on a fantastic show for the audience. It will be interesting to see how things play out for the fighter and whether he is able to settle his dispute with DDP.

Brendan Allen questions Dricus Du Plessisโ€™s championship status

Dricus Du Plessis recently defeated former champion Israel Adesanya in a dominating fashion at UFC 305. It was a complete performance that solidified his position as the middleweight king. However, the same cannot be said about his title win against Sean Strickland at UFC 297.ย

Du Plessis won the fight via split decision but it was a controversial result and was contested by several fans. Strickland took to social media and mentioned that he was robbed of a victory. Brendan Allen believes in the same theory and wasnโ€™t impressed by DDPโ€™s win.ย

I think he was given that, I don’t think he took it from the champion. In my eyes, you gotta take the belt from the championโ€ฆAs far as stylistically on the matchup, [Dricus] has a puncher’s chance. He beats me nowhere else.

After winning his last fight, Allen snapped at DDP and claimed he would easily beat the champion. Allen is one of the top BJJ black belt talents in the UFC and is excited to rise to the champion status. However, everything currently depends on his upcoming bout against Nassourdine Imavov.ย
