The basketball world has been sucked into the upcoming US presidential election as of late. Former NBA coach George Karl made a plea for his preferred candidate. The legendary coach on X expressed strong support for Vice President Kamala Harris. As such, he wants NBA legend Michael Jordan to do something to ensure victory.
George Karl in his message, has faith that Jordan’s endorsement could have a similar impact to Taylor Swift’s. Such an endorsement will help Harris to gain support in North Carolina. NC is Jordan’s home state. Karl has been very outspoken about his support for Harris and has even worked to rally support for her campaign. This made him ask Jordan to endorse the current VP.

His efforts are akin to Caitlin Clark’s perceived approval of Swift’s endorsement. This gesture earned her a large number of rebukes from both her fans and haters. It was only a matter of time before the Hall of Fame coach got in the crosshairs. The NBA coach is not a fan of Donald Trump, pretty evident from his X activities.

Apart from Karl, the democratic nominee has found support in Steph Curry. The Golden State Warriors superstar spoke in support of Harris during the Democratic National Convention. Curry himself has not been shy of his support as he even threw a dig aimed at the legend himself, Michael Jordan. It appears more from the NBA world are keen on voting for Harris.

The legendary coach faced Jordan in the 1996 NBA Finals, and he made a stark revelation when talking on an episode of Pure Hoops Media. Furthermore, George Karl recalled how MJ could still dominate on the court despite playing 36 rounds of golf between Finals games.
When I played them in the Finals in ’96, he was playing 36 holes on the day of a playoff game and still go out and kick your a*s. So I mean, he was an amazing athlete, you know he could push the limits of sleep. He could push the limits of physicality and still be an unbelievably great performer.

Despite all this, he is still being compared, aggressively, with Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James for the crown of the league’s GOAT. Notwithstanding, His Airness’ role in the growth of the sport can never be overlooked as well as his popularity in his home state of North Carolina.
