Renato Moicano is set to headline an upcoming main event fight against Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC Paris. UFC veteran Dustin Poirier has been assisting Moicano in preparation for that fight. The Brazilian star recently revealed receiving valuable advice from the UFC lightweight icon. It turns out that Poirer already defeated Saint Denis earlier this year.
Renato Moicano recently sat down to have a conversation with Inside Fighting. During their conversation on YouTube, interviewer Mike Owens asked if teammate Dustin Poirier had any advice for him that he could disclose. Poirier outperformed and knocked out BSD at UFC 299. Although the Brazilian fighter did not reveal any specifics, he confirmed in the affirmative.

Moicano is a fellow American Top Team (ATT) fighter. He will benefit from Poirier’s insights, as Poirier recently defeated Saint-Denis at UFC 299. Poirier offered his help after seeing Moicano during International Fight Week and is confident that Moicano can win. On the other hand, Saint-Denis aims to rebound from his loss to Poirier in front of his home crowd.
Saint-Denis started aggressively, scoring takedowns and attempting submissions in the fight. However, he had a staph infection ahead of the fight. It resulted in him depleting cardio, enabling Poirier to take over. With better health, BSD will aim to put the knockout loss behind him and regain his momentum in the lightweight division.

During his interview on Inside Fighting, Renato Moicano was asked how he saw the fight would end. Would he have to walk through the fight to get the victory or would he win in a flawless way? Moicano said that he does not know what round he would beat Saint-Denis in or if he is going to finish him or not.

However, skill-wise, Moicano believes he is better. The fight is later this month, and Moicano will headline the fight against Saint-Denis in front of his home crowd at the Accor Arena.

Owens asked Moicano what he does better than any other lightweight in the UFC. The Brazilian replied that he probably has the best “back-taking” skills in the lightweight division. Moicano has five rear-naked choke victories in the UFC. BSD also has good grappling skills. As such, the opportunity will arise for him to take the back during scrambles. Moicano claims to be better and is ready to defeat BSD.
