But recently, an NBA legend gave Paul the flowers he rightfully deserved.
Dwyane Wade recently praised Chris Paul on his Instagram by sharing a post. Wade dubbed Paul as one of the greatest point guards the league has ever seen in the caption. Not many players get to play 20 years in the league. CP3 joins an elite list of players who competed in the NBA for 20 years or more. Proud of Paul’s achievement, Dwyane Wade couldn’t dish out lavish praise for the new San Antonio Spurs player.

Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade have been friends for a long time and have shown each other great respect on and off the court. Fans were touched by Wade’s sweet gesture of giving a shoutout to his long-time friend in the league.
The picture Wade shared showed the three-time NBA champion’s son, Zaire Wade, playing with Paul. One of the things that Wade highly praised about Paul was the ability of Paul to make everyone play great on the team and get the whole team involved. This will continue in the upcoming season with the Spurs.
Both Wade and Paul had long careers in the league but never had the opportunity to play together. Despite coming close in 2011 when there were rumors of Paul joining Wade in Miami, they never actually teamed up. Fans would have surely enjoyed watching both Paul and Wade playing together in the NBA.

After having a disappointing season with the Golden State Warriors, Paul was eventually waived from his contract. Soon after, Paul decided to join the San Antonio Spurs and its young core. Paul was really excited to play for the Spurs and under the coaching of five-time champion Gregg Popovich.
Paul will greatly enhance the Spurs and will definitely elevate the talent around him, especially that of Victor Wembanyama. Many consider the Spurs big man to be the future of the league, and Paul is one of the best mentors to help Wemby become one of the top stars in the league. Many analysts have even claimed that Wemby could thrive under Paul and his veteran skill set.
Previously, fans have seen Paul elevate the talent around him back during his days with the Lob City Clippers. He helped rookie Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan reach new heights. In the final leg of his career, Paul will aim for the championship ring that has eluded him for a long time.
