Conor McGregorโ€˜s comeback is still one of the most talked about topics in the MMA community. The former UFC double champion is already way past his canceled fight at UFC 303. According to popular MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, the constant delay in his comeback has the potential to ruin everything that fans are expecting.

Conor McGregor has only two fights left in his UFC contract. The Irish fighter isnโ€™t that happy with UFCโ€™s matchmaking process. He recently revealed talking with Turki Alalshikh about his future. Given his interests, McGregor going back to boxing isnโ€™t a bad plan. All these possibilities can really affect his deal with UFC. This is a possibility, as per Helwani.

It could drag out into a real ugly situation. I don’t think we’re there yet, but I hope it’s not, you know, a contract play…at-play here. And that, you know, when he is ready to go they honor that and give him a fight because we’re long overdue at this point.

McGregor has given his proposal to UFC and might consider ending the contract with a significant lucrative deal. The tension between both parties heightened after Michael Chandler ditched the McGregor fight and signed for the Charles Oliveira bout. Chandler claimed that McGregor is unreliable. Moreover, he would rather beat Oliveira and chase the title shot against Islam Makhachev.ย

Chandler waited for two years for the โ€˜red panty nightโ€™ and ultimately chose to quit the opportunity. Similarly to Chandler, Oliveira was also previously interested in the McGregor fight. It turns out the Brazilian star has finally changed his mind. However, when it comes to fighting options, nobody has more than the โ€˜Notoriousโ€™.ย

Fight fans have also turned skeptical about Conor McGregorโ€™s determination to fight again. From drinking to partying, McGregor frequently makes headlines for all the wrong reasons. Last night, the Irish fighter was at the Wembley stadium for the Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois fight.ย

As expected, there is always a big list of fighters who want to fight McGregor for the fat paycheck. Former rivals and new matchups remain readily available.

Former UFC interim championย Dustin Poirierย recentlyย reposted tweets that essentially said heโ€™s fighting McGregor next. If it takes place, it would be their fourth fight against each other.

Other than that, top UFC lightweight Dan Hooker recently doubled down on his proposal to fight McGregor in his comeback. UFC CEO Dana Whiteโ€™s latest update about McGregorโ€™s return was rather positive. However, there was no date or opponent. In the future, it would be interesting to see how things work out better for MMAโ€™s biggest superstar and the biggest promotion.
