NBA legend Shaquille OโNeal is known to stir up some controversies whenever he appears on the โThe OGs Podcast,โ as he did in his most recent appearance on the podcast. OโNeal, a former Miami Heat player, made a bold statement regarding the Boston Celtics and the 2024 NBA season.
OโNeal and Udonis Haslem, another former Heat star, discussed the Boston Celticsโ 2024 NBA title run. OโNeal claimed the Celtics had one of the โeasiestโย paths to an NBA title. Haslem seemed to concur with his claims. They both also agreed that winning the championship was ultimately the most important.
We all know Boston (Celtics) had the easiest run ever to that championship.
Shaquille OโNeal said
In addition, OโNeal also sent out a challenge to Philadelphia 76ers stars Paul George and Joel Embiid to put up a good fight against the Celtics this time around in the Eastern Conference.
The Boston Celtics had a successful regular season, finishing with the leagueโs best record of 64-18. The Celtics were dominant on both sides of the floor. This was possible due to a deep squad consisting of the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as well as the freshly acquired Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday.
The Celtics were unstoppable in the NBA playoffs too. They defeated the Indiana Pacers in the ECF Finals and the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA 2024 Finals, respectively.
Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics are โlocked inโ ahead of 2024-25 NBA season
Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was left off Team USAโs squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. While he was initially hurt by the snub, he quickly got over it. Brown shared his ambitions for the 2024-25 NBA season, declaring that he was ready to lead the Celtics to another NBA championship, and also defended his team on social media.
Brown made his intentions clear, stating โI want bloodโ while replying to a comment on Instagram. Last season, he averaged 23.0 points per game and won the coveted NBA Finals MVP award. However, as with every great player before him, it was only the beginning of his grueling off-season training regimen.
This season, Brown will have an early start on his summer workouts because training camp and preseason begin in late September. It will be interesting to see how Brown and company fare in the 2024-25 NBA season.
