Recently, former NBA star Kendrick Perkins praised Daryl Morey for the Sixers’ latest move, signing their top star Joel Embiid to a three-year, $193 million extension. Perkins called Morey one of the best general managers he has ever seen and applauded the move.

Morey’s signing of Embiid to an extension is a great move, as Embiid is considered one of the top 2 centers in the NBA today, alongside Nikola Jokic. Embiid’s offensive prowess could certainly provide the team with all the help they need.
Perkins further discussed how Morey is trying to create a championship squad with his recent signing. This offseason, the Sixers also signed one of the hottest free agents in the league in Paul George.
With George in, the Sixers have a great chance to compete in the championship as PG is one of the best two-way wings in the league. The Sixers management also signed their young star Tyrese Maxey to a contract extension of 5 years for $204 million. Maxey has proved to be a great second option besides Embiid.
The Sixers are certainly one of the strongest teams in the much-improved Western Conference. They could cause great trouble for the Boston Celtics who will be trying to repeat as champions. Embiid will be aiming to win his first NBA championship and shut down the narrative of being a playoffs choker.
