UFC featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell has shown strong interest in fighting Movsar Evloev. This is after Aljamain Sterling withdrew from their scheduled fight at UFC 307 due to injury. Mitchell, also known as โ€œThug Nasty,โ€ is eager to step up but has set a condition: he does not want to take the fight on short notice. Here is what happened:

Bryce Mitchell recently sat down for an interview with The Schmo. During their discussion, Mitchell reflected on his previous loss at UFC 296, acknowledging that taking short-notice fights is not always the best decision, especially for a high-level opponent like Evloev. Instead, he proposed pushing the fight back by two months to allow him time to properly train.

Well dude, you know what happened the last time I took one on short notice. Hell dude, it was ugly. I’m wise enough to respect that I need a little bit more training.

Mitchell cited the importance of proper preparation. In his last fight at UFC 296, he stepped in on short notice to face Josh Emmett and suffered a devastating first-round knockout. That experience left him wary of repeating the same mistake.

He believes that a well-prepared fight would not only give him a better chance but would also be more exciting for the fans. If the UFC agrees to his request for a delayed bout, it could be a highly anticipated fight between two featherweights.

Another reason why Bryce Mitchell does not wish to take on Movsar Evloev immediately is because he does not wish to take the fight away from Aljamain Sterling. The former bantamweight champion stated during his video announcing his injury that he was ready to take on the Russian if he waited till his recovery.ย

Mitchell made it clear that he wanted the fight the Russian. The featherweight is confident that fans would love to see him fight Evloev. He also noted that a two-month delay should not be a big deal financially for Evloev.

Also I don’t want to take the fight from Aljo. I wouldn’t take the fight from Aljo. I’m buddies with Aljo. So if Aljo don’t wanna fight him in a couple of months cause he needs more time. And they need somebody, I’m the dude.

Meanwhile, Movsar Evloev has been adamant about staying at UFC 307. The Russian went on social media announcing that he was ready to take on whoever is willing to step up for the fight this October at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
