Holloway was born and brought up in Hawaii. Not only that, he is even one of the most looked-after fighters representing Hawaii. With that being said, the ‘Blessed’ always stood up for his natives. As such, recently, he went to a local news station to address the rising problems in Hawaii. To be precise, Max Holloway went in to condemn gun violence in Hawaii. In doing so, he also sent an important message.

Put the guns down boys. If you guys got a problem do it the old school way. Go to the boxing gym, put on some gloves and punch each other… Stop the violence, go to the gym, go do something, go lift weights…

This comes after several recent incidents of open firing and multiple shootings in Hawaii. Holloway was clearly disappointed with it and urged miscreants to stop such violence-promoting activities. Speaking of his stature at the UFC, the 32-year-old Hawaiian currently reigns as the BMF champion after a remarkable win over Justin Gaethje. Interestingly, Holloway is known for exquisite striking skills, and the boxing skillset that he possesses complements that. Moreover, currently, he is eyeing another UFC gold at the coming UFC 308 event against Ilia Topuria in Abu Dhabi.

He had to opt for the longer route to regain that, where he defeated Arnold Allen first. Following that, Holloway was set to face Chan Sung Jung aka The Korean Zombie. However, weeks before that, the Maui incident took place, severely affecting many Hawaiians.

Holloway went in to talk about that matter during his pre-fight press conference. However, he got emotional while addressing this, citing the damages it has inflicted on the citizens there. Not only that, but the Blessed also thanked several communities and the UFC’s efforts to help the Hawaiians.
