Former President Trump claims immigrants are 'eating dogs' in Ohio

The National Conventions hosted by both parties and the debate between both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris has turned the tables. One of those table-turning situations of that debate was the former Presidentโ€™s โ€˜cat-eatingโ€™ claims against Haitian immigrants. This prompted the Miami Heat to chime in with a view of their own.

With Haitians in the country facing threats, many have come forward to denounce the words of the former President. The Miami Heat joined in to post this message on their official X account.

The Miami Heat staff, like Miami itself, is a diverse and brilliant mix of vibrant cultures, including many members of our Haitian community. The false narrative surrounding them is hurtful and offensive and has sadly made innocent people targets of hateful speech and physical threats.

This is coming from the franchise that is based in the state with the largest Haitian population. The Heat was at the forefront of aid work when Haiti suffered a catastrophic earthquake back in 2010. Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, started talking about Haitian immigrants eating cats in the town of Springfield, Ohio.

They have continued to do so, even when many media houses and officials have come forward to denounce those claims. Now it has turned sour for the Haitian population in the country as they are being subjected to threats and have faced vandalism.

Most recently, a bomb threat forced schools and public offices to remain shut in Springfield. With the Miami Heat officially denouncing such hateful claims, it goes to reinforce the growing dissent Trump faces in the basketball community.

Donald Trump is trying to get elected to the White House for a second term. Earlier in his endeavors to become the President of the most powerful nation in the world, he was slightly in the lead. Then, current President Joe Bidenโ€˜s disastrous debate suggested the NBA world did not have an optimal candidate.

Fast forward to today and they have swiftly moved in to support vice president Kamala Harris. Her performance in the previous debate and endorsements from Stephen Curry seemingly put any doubts to rest. That endorsement came on the backgrounds of the continuous distaste Trump left in the basketball community. His constant jibes to those who questioned his decisions did not sit well.

The NBA community has always voted for the Democrats. Former players, coaches, and owners like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George Karl, and Mark Cuban have openly supported the Democrats in the past. As such, it is no surprise that they donโ€™t support Trump.

Now, that the basketball community have a proper candidate to run against him, they are leaving no stone unturned. This statement from the 3-time NBA title winners only goes on to reinforce that the NBA community embraces diversity.
