Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan is open about his mental health struggles, having previously revealed his battle with depression. He revisits this topic in his autobiography, Above the Noise: My Story of Chasing Calm.
DeMar DeRozan, in his memoir, detailed his life off the court and included his challenging upbringing in Compton, California, as well as the grief that followed the loss of his father in 2021. The purpose of his book was to lend a hand to those who are faced with similar battles, as he proved that being a star doesn’t make you immune to mental health battles.

His past deals with his mental health shook the basketball world and led to strong words of encouragement for him. But he has shown that he can open up about it, which is a good sign for others struggling with the same issue.
On the sports side of things, DeRozan has teamed up with the Sacramento Kings and has his team as favorites to reach the hotly contested Western Conference finals. He would make his debut when the Kings hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Golden 1 Center.

Sacramento star DeMar DeRozan is just one of the many to come out of the area. During an appearance on First Take, he was asked to share his LA basketball Mount Rushmore.
To the shock and surprise of many, he went with LA Clippers’ James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, Dallas Mavericks’ Klay Thompson and Denver Nuggets’ Russell Westbrook. While many were expecting him to select himself, he didn’t, as he wanted to be as fair as possible.

His selections have strong clout as Harden and Westbrook are both former NBA MVP winners alongside boasting of being scoring champions. The Klaw and Thompson stands out in his list as the only one to have won an NBA title, two and four respectively to be precise.
