Joe Rogan is one of the most popular podcasters in the world. He often delves into various intriguing tales of the fighting world. Recently, he discussed the initial bout between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana back in 2014. As such, Rogan particularly talked about how Maidana turned Mayweatherโ€™s broker tooth into a necklace and wore it afterward.

No one ever defeated Floyd โ€˜Moneyโ€™ Mayweather. In reference to that, Rogan and his co. were naming the fighters who troubled โ€˜Money Mayโ€™ during his active year. That is when the UFC commentator mentioned Argentinian boxer Marcos Maidana exquisitely displayed his skills while fighting Mayweather. During that conversation, Rogan recalled the infamous tooth necklace incident from that matchup.

(Marcos) Maidana knocked his (Floyd Mayweather) tooth out and then would carry it around on a necklace. Maidana has Floyd Mayweather’s tooth on a gold necklace… You can see it in the fight, it flies out of his mouth and one of the cornermen saw it and grabbed it… That’s hilarious..

Floyd Mayweather is known for his excellent technical abilities while boxing. Knowing that Joe Rogan heaped praise on Marcos Maidana for cracking โ€˜Money Mayโ€™ open. Interestingly, Rogan has always been a massive Mayweather fan. As such, most recently, the popular podcaster even backed Money May following his recent controversial antics.

Speaking of his recent antics, Mayweather is currently retired and fights exhibition bouts. Most recently, he fought and won against John Gotti III. Interestingly, the fight buzzed a lot as Mayweather fired the referee mid-fight. Following that, he faced a lot of criticism from the general public and community. However, he promptly defended his stand and stated his wish to fight again soon.

Floyd Mayweather came across various formidable opponents every once in a while. Marcos Maidana was one of those who fought Money May twice. The initial bout between Mayweather and Maidana was full of perfect combinations from both boxers.

Not only that, it was also quite controversial as in one instance the Argentinian boxer bit Money May. Even though the Maidana couldnโ€™t win, he landed some clinical punches on Mayweather. The viral clip of Mayweatherโ€™s tooth flying out his mouth was one of them.

Following that, Maidana flaunted Mayweatherโ€™s tooth by wearing around a necklace. As for Money May, he promptly dismissed his opponentโ€™s claims, as reported by the Independent. In doing so, he also lauded Maidanaโ€™s skillset as a boxer.

However, it has been almost a decade since that incident and both boxers are looking ahead in their respective careers. Interestingly, as for Maidana, his two fights were against Mayweather. Following that, in 2016, he opted for retirement. Now, coming to Money May, he retired as well and currently enjoys his lavish lifestyle with his family and friends.
