UFC CEO Dana White has been an evident combat sports enthusiast for over two decades now. He had solid boxing experience, even if he never turned a professional. During this long tenure, White came across several critical injuries in the sport. Surprisingly, Dana White recently disclosed one of his injuries, which came while boxing at an early age.

Dana White recently gave an exclusive interview session for Time Magazine. The discussion started from the grand Noche UFC event to his new endeavor Power Slap. Prior to becoming one of the most renowned promoters in combat sports, White competed and trained in boxing. Now, the UFC boss spoke about the injuries that came from it due to extensive wear and tear.

All this came after his discussion about the damages boxers inflict on themselves. UFC legend Daniel Cormier once explained why boxing has everlasting damage. Dana White has always been vocal about his thoughts. Interestingly, there are several reports to back the UFC CEOโ€™s statements as well.

Not only that, but even boxers like Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia have shown CTE symptoms on various occasions. Interestingly, black spots on the brain are a potential sign of CTE, which indicates that White might have been diagnosed with it for so many years.

Amidst that, the UFC CEO has done a great job for his MMA promotion. With immense success over the years, it is currently one of the most watched sports. Most recently, the Noche UFC (UFC 306) at the Las Vegas Sphere broke several records. However, during the interview session, Dana White discussed another buzzing debate, where he made several claims.

UFC bossman Dana White has always voiced his opinions about boxing as a combat sport. Not only that, in one instance, he even claimed that boxing poses more threat to the competitors as compared to his UFC. Similarly, the UFC CEO also claims that his new competitive league Power Slap is much safer than boxing.

White often heaps praises for Power Slap, even after getting trolled for being a brutal sport. This is one other thing that he praises often with Jon Jones topping the list.

In the same exclusive Time Magazine interview, he doubled down on how Power Slap doesnโ€™t possess any major injury threats like boxing. In doing so, he draws a detailed comparison between the both.

If you look at boxing, right, these guys train and spar for months leading up to a fight, then they go in there and they fight 12 rounds… These (Power Slap) guys go in and take three slaps or less. And they go through all the same medical testing that professional fighters do…

White also stated that the Power Slap athletes get immediate medical attention to mitigate the possibility of a severe injury. Not only that, the UFC CEO mentioned that Power Slap and UFC have no track records with death. However, all these positive and negative aspects are a part of combat sports and the fighters compete even knowing about these.
