Draymond Green has built a reputation as one of the smartest basketball players in the NBA. He coupled that intelligence with hard work and toughness to win 4 NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors. But that toughness or rather the extremity of it was the topic that dominated the league last season. Even though he is trying to move away from that, Jayson Tatum did not hesitate to use that as a reference.

The newly crowned NBA Champion was a guest on The Tonight Show. In a series of rapid-fire questions, host Jimmy Fallon asked him to name a player who could create a successful career in the WWE. To this Jayson Tatum had quite the reply.

I love him to death…..Draymond Green.
Jayson Tatum said

He went with what the general consensus has been of late. That is, that Draymond Green is the only player to exhibit the type of physical dominance that can translate to the WWE.

But he said it as he had no choice. Knowing that he is good friends with his 2020 Tokyo Olympics teammate, he knew he would not be on the receiving end of a blowback. Green has often replied back to players and analysts who have taken shots at him.

Draymond Green does have the build to be successful in the WWE. Standing at 6′ 6″ he has the height needed. But he might have to bulk up to take on the weight and strength of opponents. But he sure has no shortage of the desire to win. That alone could help him win a lot of matches if he ever wanted to.

Draymond Green Warriors to get litmus test against Jayson Tatum and Celtics

The former Defensive Player of the Year might be 34 years old, but he still has that fight in him to win NBA titles. But Jayson Tatum’s Boston Celtics have become the new benchmark in the NBA. In their eighth game of the upcoming season, the Warriors will travel to Boston.

For Draymond Green and his teammates, it will be a chance to measure how they stand in their quest for another NBA title. If they play well and still lose, their front office will get the message loud and clear that they need another player.

But then, with the demands some teams have placed on players, it is unlikely the Golden State Warriors will balk. Instead, they will look to continue the development of their current players. That places the January 20th game as a better-measuring yardstick.
