Recently, Anthony discussed how the league would look if he were still active.
On the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, Carmelo Anthony shared his thoughts about the league today. He confidently asserted that he would be able to score an average of 28 points per game if he were playing at his peak level for the Knicks in today’s league.
He also mentioned how the offensive strategies have changed in the current league, making him very dangerous in the pick and roll as well.
If I’m taking that player and implementing that into today’s game, it’d be very efficient, it’d be very effective. Like for what I know now and having that and being able to implement that into today? With that being said, to be able to play in this type of system today where it’s like four out, one in, pass and move… with this team, I’m averaging 28.

The game in today’s NBA has become more fast paced and Anthony believes he would certainly thrive at this pace. Fans have seen offensive minded players getting the edge in the today’s NBA and Melo would be no exception.
During his time with the Knicks, Melo helped the team to reach the first round of the playoffs. But the Knicks always failed to make it ahead of the second round. It was with the Knicks in the 2012-13 season, Melo averaged 28.7 points per game and won his only scoring title.
Despite his individual success as a scorer, Carmelo Anthony’s legacy in the NBA is often overshadowed by his failure to win a championship. Melo’s lack of playoff success and championships will always be a prominent part of his career narrative.

NBA legend Michael Jordan is known in the NBA for his time with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan was the main star of the Bulls six championship victories in the 90s. But after winning his sixth championship, Jordan announced his (second) retirement from the game.
However, after a few years, Jordan made his return to the league. This time he teamed up with the Washington Wizards.
During the same podcast, Carmelo Anthony shared his thoughts on Jordan’s time with the Wizards. He said:
