SUGA SEAN O'MALLEY STORMS OFF THE SHOW || Pound 4 Pound Kamaru Usman & Henry Cejudo

Throughout his career, ‘Suga’ has never been afraid to engage in a war of words. It doesn’t matter if it is on someone else’s platform or someone shorter than him! Sean O’Malley puts his bantamweight gold to test again Merab Dvalishvili at the UFC 306 Noche PPV this weekend. Before this, O’Malley appeared during Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman’s ‘Pound 4 Pound’ Podcast.

The bantamweight champ made a brief peek into ShadowLion’s new and famous ‘Pound 4 Pound’ Podcast. In recent times, Cejudo and Kamaru Usman have brought on high-profile guests like Dana White, Georges St-Pierre, Jorge Masvidal, and Canelo Alvarez, to name a few. Henry Cejudo got more than he bargained for when he brought in ‘Suga.’ O’Malley roasted him and fled, leaving Cejudo to plot revenge.

[Smiles] Once he loses to Merab—because I do believe he’s going to lose to Merab—fu*k it, the next fight that’s up is me and him…Deiveson going to fight Petr Yan, Umar already fighting for the belt, the only dude that’s really left in that whole division is myself…Granted, I’ve lost two. I lost to the former champion, I lost to the soon-to-be-pending world champion.

Instead of a media availability round, the 29-year champ stayed on just long enough for the comically painful deed! If there was ever a “boom, roasted!” moment in MMA (not Ben Askren), this would be the one. With the bantamweight division matchmaking going on, if Suga loses to Dvalishvili, it will indeed pave the way for Cejudo to fight O’Malley.

O’Malley has long maintained his diss on “short stack” Cejudo over the years. The 2024 ESPY for Best UFC Fighter Award winner is also not shying away from touting his win over Aljamain Sterling any soon. The humblebrag won gold from Aljo at the UFC 292 pay-per-view. Hence, he rips Cejudo for losing to ‘easy’ Aljo at UFC 288. Cejudo, in the meantime, doubled down on Dvalishvili winning.

Henry Cejudo thinks Merab Dvalishvili will win at UFC 306

Henry Cejudo has long maintained a passive-aggressive rivalry with the now 135-pound title-holder. While Sean O’Malley keeps up his witty stints and ‘Cejudo is short’ taunt (he thinks everybody is 5’4″, even Ilia Topuria), Cejudo aims high. If their backstage viral moment from all those years ago is any proof, ‘Triple C’ is not that well-versed in trash talks. He straight reverts to callouts.

However, now that he is removed from the title picture, he veers to Merab Dvalishvili for this particular rivalry. This would make sense, given the Georgian wrestle-heavy fighter defeated him at UFC 298. The 37-year-old recently hinted he is more interested in another potential run at flyweight than title gold. During the period, he also touted ‘The Mahince’ to win at this week’s UFC 306 headliner.

This is my prediction: Merab Dvalishvili is going to stop Sean O’Malley at the Sphere…He’s going to beat him. He’s going to either 50-45 him, maybe not 50-45 because he may lose the first two rounds or the first one at least….He’s going to beat him.

Henry Cejudo Considering UFC Flyweight Return: 'I Want to Get Close to That Belt'

Not only does he think Dvalishvili will beat Sean O’Malley for the 135lbs title, but he’ll do it devastatingly. While many joke about the Mexican-American and his height or career losses, this comical rivalry has been long. It is similar to how Dvalishvili and ‘Suga’ once were. Hence, if he does not go down to flyweight, will there be a chance that this rivalry can flourish more? Only time will tell.
