Steve Nashโs tenure in the league has undoubtedly endeared him with legendary status as he not only named a league MVP but he received the award twice while being a point guard. However, his reputation on the court left a lasting impression on the opponents he clashed with, most notably former player Rashad McCants.
The impression Steve Nash left was one of craftiness, as he used non-conventional means to get the better of his opponents. During an episode of Gilโs Arena, host Josiah Johnson inquired from the attendees who fit the craftiness description, and Nash was Rashad McCantsโ choice.
I say Steve Nash, thatโs a crafty motherfu**erโฆHe was hitting us with all kind of s**t in that pick-and-roll, it was so much.

The conversation took another turn when the former Minnesota Timberwolves player downplayed Nashโs status as an elite point guard. He argued that the role Amarโe Stoudemire played while they were together at the Phoenix Suns is the reason he canโt call Nash a super-elite point guard.
Notwithstanding Johnsonโs argument, the Hall of Famerโs elite performance was good enough to earn him two MVP awards (2005, 2006), eight All-Star appearances, and also being named to seven All-NBA teams. Nash ended his career with averages of 14.3 points, 8.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Rashad McCants speaks on why Klay Thompson rejected the Los Angeles Lakers
Klay Thompsonโs expected departure from โboyhoodโ team was one of the most talked about topics while the trade market was really busy. He eventually teamed up with the Dallas Mavericks but before that, he was being chased by the Lakers, a move that even his father endorsed.
However, he chose not to join forces with LeBron James and Anthony Davis for reasons best known to him. But Rashad McCants confidently revealed on an episode of Gilโs Arena why that happened.
Why didnโt Klay Thompson pick the Lakers? Why didnโt he even consider them? Iโll ask him, but I donโt have to. I know the answer. I know the answer: Iโm cool on that circus over there. Iโm cool.
Rashad McCants said
Thompson drew the curtain on an 11-year association with the Warriors after he had a terrible last season which saw him getting benched for the first time in his career. His injury issues also did not help his case and when the Mavs came calling, the opportunity of starting afresh was too good to be true.
