Daniel Cormier REACTS to Jorge Masvidal DECLARING UFC comeback, predicting KO vs. Michael Chandler?!

Jorge Masvidal retired from UFC last year at UFC 287. The exit was only from the UFC. The life-long boxing aspirant soon embarked on a new journey. โ€˜Gamebredโ€™ tried his luck in boxing and fought former rival Nate Diaz. Now, after all that, Masvidal believes itโ€™s time to get back into UFC. However, Daniel Cormier feels there is a catch.

In a recent interview, Masvidal mentioned that he is planning to make a UFC return. He mentioned potentially fighting Michael Chandler later this year at UFC 310. Daniel Cormier reviewed the whole situation on his YouTube channel and talked about the current star power of Masvidal. DC questioned fight fans about whether they were excited to see an out-of-form Masvidal back in the UFC.ย

Do you care now? Like you did in 2019? Like you did when he was on that amazing run when he made himself from a guy that was a bit of a journeyman, into a main event attractionโ€ฆHe’s 39 years old now. The best days seem to be behind him, lost four in a row,

Masvidal gained popularity in 2019 with three consecutive wins. The same year, Masvidal got his iconic five-second knockout finish against Ben Askren, which skyrocketed his impact in the UFC. This run gave him the title shot against Kamaru Usman, which led to the beginning of his downfall.ย

Cormier stated that Masvidal is doing great with his boxing promotion, etc, and shouldnโ€™t look back at UFC. Knowing Masvidal, it would be surprising to see a fiery response from the Miami-based fighter towards DCโ€™s comments. After all, itโ€™s not the first time both veterans have collided.ย

Daniel Cormier predicts Jorge Masvidalโ€™s retirementย

Jorge Masvidalโ€˜s title rematch with Kamaru Usman ended with him getting brutally knocked out by the former champion. Masvidal then had a grudge fight, and he lost to Colby Covington at UFC 272. Despite the variety of trash-talking throughout the build-up, both fighters delivered an underwhelming fight when they finally met.ย

After that loss, Masvidal fought top welterweight Gilbert Burns in his hometown in Florida. Masvidal lost the fight via unanimous decision before announcing his retirement from the sport. However, all this was predicted by Daniel Cormier, who warned the Miami native beforehand.ย

You lose to Gilbert Burns and now you’ve lost to three of the top five fighters in the world. I don’t know if you come back from that at an advanced age in fighting.

In retaliation, Masvidal snapped back at DC, claiming that the legend was mad at him for not giving him an interview. Nevertheless, Masvidalโ€™s retirement was rather eventful, with his home fans cheering for him and Donald Trump being among them.ย

It is important to note that they have collided once before UFC 287. It was during the pandemic times when fighter pay discussions ran rampant. As such, Masvidal wanted better fighter pay, whereas DC supported the UFC. In the end, Masvidal ended up calling Cormier a โ€˜white knight,โ€™ and it was the beginning of their online rivalry.
