LeBron James is one of the greatest players to grace the sport over the last 15 years in the NBA. He is known for his never-give-up approach and hard-working mentality. Along with his immense athleticism, James has also put in a lot of work off the court to be regarded as one of the best in the sport. Notably, one of his former teammates opened up on Jamesโ relentless nature.
Former Miami Heat player, Greg Oden opened up on an interesting story on the OGs Show, involving LeBron James. Itโs important to note that, the Heat lost the 2014 NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs. Oden explained how James quickly got over the NBA Finals loss and was at practice early in the morning with his mom.
Probably like 8 in the morning, I lived across the street. So I come over early I’m still in workout mode I’m go work out. Bron in there at 7 in the morning with his mom working out and we just lost the finals.
On the OGs Show podcast, Greg Oden said
In addition, another former teammate, Udonis Haslem too agreed with Oden regarding Jamesโ immense mentality to never stop. While it is odd to see an individual in the gym so promptly for a workout, it is even more peculiar to see them immediately following their teamโs elimination from the competition. Players usually tend to focus on their off-season after facing elimination. This can last several months and gives one plenty of opportunity to take a break and get re-energized. However, for James, this has never been the case, as he considers himself different than the others.
Iman Shumpert made a huge claim regarding LeBron James and the Miami Heat
Many fans believe the NBA is not the same anymore. With some asserting that it was the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors that changed basketball in the NBA. However, former NBA player Iman Shumpert had a different take on this. Shumpert claimed on the The Bootleg Kev Podcast that LeBron James joining the Miami Heat โruined basketballโ forever.
He thought he was making it better, ย Me, personally, I loved the NBA for the loyalty that I thought was there. He basically knocked the fourth wall down.
On the Bootleg Kev Podcast, Imam Shumpert said
In addition, Shumpert also asserted that James joining the Heat looked more like cheating and being disloyal to the Cavs.
On the other hand, James would not agree with Shumpertโs take as he has switched many teams in his career. He returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 to play alongside Kyrie Irving, eventually winning the NBA together in 2016. James has always prioritized winning the NBA title rather than being loyal to one NBA side in his career.
