Apparently, the much-loved celebratory move was in the genes as it is passed down to Brunson’s newborn baby. Ali Marks Brunson, Jalen Brunson’s wife, took to Instagram to share the iconic move mimicked by the child.
Ali Brunson took to Instagram stories to share pictures of the newest member of the Brunson family, Jordyn James. In a similar pattern as before, the face of the child was not revealed. Instead, the picture was a snap of James’ hands, which appeared to make the iconic 3PT gesture by Jalen Brunson. The stark resemblance of the gesture cannot be denied.
The couple has been pretty careful about not revealing the face of their newborn baby. As a matter of fact, their announcement on social media about the birth of their child came three weeks later. Even so, the gender of the child has not been revealed yet. In the announcement posts, Jalen Brunson and Ali Brunson shared an image of the kid’s hand and feet simultaneously.
Although the fans love Brunson’s gesture, they were definitely left curious about its origin. Many claimed that Brunson got the celebration from soccer star Paulo Dybala, who made a similar gesture with only his thumb and index finger. To their surprise, Brunson revealed it doesn’t mean anything, and it only stuck because it was unique.

Jalen Brunson and Ali Brunson celebrated their first marriage anniversary together this summer. The high school sweethearts at Adlai E. Stevenson High School started dating in 2013. However, they got married only last year in July at Chicago’s Ritz Carlton after Brunson proposed the September before that.
In a conversation with PEOPLE, Brunson did not hide his fondness for his wife as he appreciated her for her support. He exclaimed that she was a blessing to him and had been by his side. The fans would second that as they often saw Ali Brunson in the stands cheering her husband at the Knicks games.
In addition to that, Brunson also mentioned that his love for playing in New York was also because of the fan interactions. He revealed feeling appreciated. In a series of revelations, Brunson also described his sincere love for Justin Bieber. He made it a mandatory practice to listen to at least one of Bieber’s songs before going to court or a meeting.
