It was always going to leave a bad taste, but Paul George’s departure from the Los Angeles Clippers has got everyone pointing fingers at the other. Taking the side of the new Philadelphia 76ers’ star is Paul George Sr., his dad. He appeared on a recent episode of his podcast to comment on the never-ending story.
Paul George Sr. reiterated the obvious that his son asked for what he felt he rightly deserved for his contribution to the organization. However, in return, he got terrible treatment from the Clippers. Finally, when he didn’t get what he wanted, he left to join Eastern conference rivals, the 76ers.

Paul George himself didn’t leave without having a word as he trolled his former team, who in the eyes of fans see them in the shadow of their more illustrious neighbors, the LA Lakers. Although there was a possibility of his teaming up to replace Klay Thompson at the Warriors, that move never materialized.

Furthermore, he joins a 76ers team who have failed to live up to their lofty expectations, and the presence of him, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey would be a force to be reckoned with. The 76ers start their 2024/2025 campaign with a tough home game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Still speaking on his son’s podcast, Paul George Sr. shared a heartfelt account of the devastating leg injury his son suffered during a Team USA scrimmage in 2014. This unfortunate injury marked a turning point in George’s career and life, forcing him to overcome immense physical and emotional challenges.
The injury was particularly frightening because George was a rising star in the league at the time. He had earned All-Star honors and selections to the NBA Defensive Team and All-NBA Third Team. As a result, George missed almost the entire 2014-15 season, playing just 91 minutes in six games for the Indiana Pacers.
