There has been a long-standing bond between Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Many fans have been captivated by DC and Nurmagomedov’s humorous videos that they have posted online. Recently, during an interaction between them, fans got to see a classic DC-Nurmagomedov moment courtesy of coach Javier Mendez.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently back at the AKA gym with his team preparing for training camps. Previously some hilarious videos of the ‘Eagle’ and UFC legend Cain Velasquez have gone viral on the internet. In the recent video, DC can be heard asking Nurmagomedov about a BBQ party he wasn’t invited to. However, the former lightweight champion refuted the claims and hilariously showed a text message as proof.
Nurmagomedov mentioned that he called DC and later dropped a text message to which Cormier just replied, “Hey”. The former UFC double champion was in disbelief as the whole team started laughing at him. It was a wholesome moment that reminded fans of the old videos of Cormier and Nurmagomedov messing with each other.
Over the years, both legends have maintained their relationship and have great respect and admiration for each other. They were inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame list on the same day in 2022. Both DC and Nurmagomedov have raised the reputation of AKA gym with their achievements. Their relationship has inspired many new talents from the gym under the guidance of coach Javier Mendez.
Khabib Nurmagomedov hilariously trolls Javier Mendez for teaching English to Dagestani fighters
Hailing from Dagestan under his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib Nurmagomedov was always a wrestling genius. However, since coming to AKA, the fighter developed his striking under Javier Mendez and Daniel Cormier. Nurmagomedov became one of the most dominant champions in the history of UFC and thanked his time in AKA for that.
Other than his fighting skills, Javier Mendez and others also help Nurmagomedov with his English speaking skills. In the past, this gave fight fans some of the most iconic words from Nurmagomedov. Recently, Mendez tried to do the same with Umar Nurmagomedov and Khabib took this opportunity to mock the coach.
You are Mexican living in US and you try to teach English. What is this? Teach him Mexican. Don’t jump to English, this not your level guys.

After Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov is the new rising star from Team Khabib. The fighter recently secured his place as the number one bantamweight title contender by beating Cory Sandhagen. It would be interesting to see if Nurmagomedov manages to bring another UFC title to AKA.
