Joe Rogan has been a part of UFC for a long time and has seen some great fighters. Over the years, some of the best fighters from all around the world have come to the UFC to showcase their talents. While most are specialists, very few are considered a complete fighter and Rogan believes Islam Makhachev is right up there.

Hailing from Dagestan, Islam Makhachev was previously referred to as the protege of Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, lately, the fighter has established a name for himself by becoming the lightweight champion and the pound-for-pound king. While talking about Makhachev, Rogan mentioned that the champion has everything in his arsenal. According to Joe Rogan, Makhachev is a complete package who is dangerous in every aspect of MMA.

That’s the full thing. He could head kick you. He could strike with you, he can knock you out like legitimately and he can still strangle you and he could still smother you. Like it’s the perfect combination.

Initially as expected from a fighter from Dagestan, Makhachev was well-versed in the wrestling part of the game. However, with time, the fighter has developed a knack for striking and has the power to knock opponents out. In addition, his judo trips and submission game are top-notch as well.

Many believe that the fighter is a better version of his mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov given his striking abilities.

However, his leg-kick victory over former pound-for-pound king Alexander Volkanovski was something special. After getting a close win in the first bout, Makhachev showed no mercy in the rematch. Rogan watched the fight live and was awestruck by Makhachev’s new abilities.

What a shocker. He head kicked him. Who would have saw that coming? It was amazing. Shin to the dome, son. Opened up a cut, it was perfect. He showed a bunch of new s***. That front kick and he was throwing that kick to the body and then he threw the same kick to the head. It’s a solid win. The way it went down…He got caught with an amazing kick.
