On ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A. Smith and the other crew of the show discussed Stephen Curry and his new contract extension. Smith criticized the Warriors front office for failing to sign good talent. He expressed shock that no player wants to play with a star like Curry. Smith also questioned how the Warriors management will provide help to Curry in the next season.
Looking at the organization as a whole — specifically Steve Kerr — and I’m saying, ‘How come we can’t get this brother any additional help?’… We’re talking about a Steph Curry that still looks like he’s in his prime. Still the greatest shooter on the planet… You would think people would clamor to [play alongside Curry]. I don’t know if that has been the case.

This offseason, the Warriors first lost Chris Paul and then lost one of the key pieces of their dynasty Klay Thompson. Many fans criticized the Warriors management for losing such big names this off-season. The Warriors were trying to acquire Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen but failed to do so after he signed an extension with the Jazz.

Curry is averaging 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists with the Warriors in the 2023-24 season. It will certainly be a tough road for Curry who is trying to capture his fifth championship with the Warriors.

After the Olympics victory many fans speculated about Stephen Curry leaving the Golden State Warriors to team up with his USA teammates. But Curry put an end to all the rumors as he signed a one-year extension worth $62.6 million. He will be with the Warriors till he turns 39 years old.
Curry is on the road to join LeBron James as the player to have earned $1 Billion during their playing career. Through his new extension and the brand endorsement deals, Curry’s total earnings will reach a new high. Curry is poised to receive $55.8 million in salary this season, making it the eighth consecutive year he has held the highest salary in the NBA.
The Warriors will be hoping to make some noise in the next season. They still have a few key pieces in Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson and Draymond Green who could help Curry. Fans could expect big trades made by the Warriors as the season progresses.
