The rivalry between Jon ‘Bones’ Jones and Tom Aspinall may have escalated recently. Jones appears to be unhappy with Aspinall’s constant jabs. In response to these events, UFC legend Daniel Cormier has made some interesting comments praising the Brit. Interestingly, this might be Jones’ biggest rivalry since fighting Cormier twice.
Tom Aspinall recently gave a brief interview session with SPORTbible KO. During the interview, he was asked who Aspinall considers the champion of dodging fights. The Brit promptly replied as Jon Jones, forcing the latter to rage on the Instagram comments. When Jones’ former rival Daniel Cormier came across that exchange, he lauded Aspinall with high praise.

Per Daniel Cormier, Aspinall is on the right path to getting that title fight. Jon Jones avoided the British heavyweight for a long time now and wanted to fight other opponents. Following this, Aspinall even levied several ducking accusations on the heavyweight champion. However, UFC CEO Dana White did mention that Jones would fight everybody before retirement.

Jon Jones had firmly expressed his intention to retire after his highly anticipated showdown with Stipe Miocic. Bones’ plans remain to exit the sport on a high note at the pinnacle of his career. However, his retirement plans may be put on hold if he decides to settle the Aspinall business. Tom Aspinall is currently enjoying a meteoric rise in his career. His journey in the UFC is marked by a series of stunning performances in his division. Aspinall’s most recent triumph over Curtis Blaydes, in just under a minute, has solidified his reputation as an exceptional fighter. Notably, former UFC champion Daniel Cormier echoed these sentiments in a recent video on his YouTube channel.

I don’t know if it’s in Jon’s best interest to take this fight. Because this kid is young, this kid is excited, this kid wants everything that he has had and that makes him dangerous.

According to Cormier, Aspinall has finally managed to trigger the heavyweight champion. Interestingly, DC also mentioned that even he and Chael Sonnen could never do what the Brit just did. Now, it remains to be seen if this will lead to something that everyone in the community has longed for. Not only that, it will also be interesting to see how Aspinall claps back at the heavyweight champ again.
