Sean O’Malley is one of the biggest superstars on the current UFC roster. The reigning bantamweight champion is a great striker and has frequently talked about his boxing move in the future. As it turns out, O’Malley has some big names in his mind including the undefeated Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017 with a perfect record of 50-0. Retirement didn’t stop Mayweather who has since then participated in various exhibition bouts. Talking about Mayweather, Sean O’Malley’s coach Tim Welch proposed the idea for the fight. While responding to the question, ‘Suga’ mentioned that he would absolutely dominate Mayweather in a boxing bout.

Me vs. Floyd? I would love that. That would be crazy. Like getting him right at the end like f****** put him out and put him in.

Mayweather also started his career at the weight where O’Malley is currently fighting. However, if they ever fight the weight would not be a problem. Mayweather is well known for his defense and O’Malley has the ability to knock people out. Both the fighters are big superstars and can sell huge pay-per-views. An exhibition bout between both the fighters doesn’t look like a bad idea at all.

O’Malley believes he’s just a couple more title defenses away from getting his UFC green light to try boxing. The fighter has talked about fighting boxing superstar Ryan Garcia in a potential match. Both fighters have already verbally agreed to the fight. Nevertheless, when it comes to selling PPVs and making money, O’Malley would most probably choose the ‘Money’ Mayweather fight.

Sean O’Malley discusses Floyd Mayweather’s heel personality in the world of boxing

The foundation of Floyd Mayweather’s heel persona is his arrogance, trash talk, and extravagant display of money. Known as ‘Money,’ he frequently makes provocative remarks that draw attention and highlight his love of wealth. His extravagant lifestyle, which includes pricey cars and jewelry, contributes to his negative persona.

Mayweather is a divisive figure in sports because of his defensive fighting style, which some have criticized as being less exciting. It also serves to further his image as someone who puts victory and money above everything else. According to Sean O’Malley, this has helped Mayweather to earn millions of dollars by rattling his haters.

That’s Floyd’s whole way how he made money his whole career…I mean everyone fu**** wanna see him lose. I mean eventually, I’m gonna be making those pay-per-view points if people are gonna be pay me to see me knocked out. I love what he’s doing, beating up these YouTube guys.

The Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight in 2017 was a massive event. It generated over $600 million, 4.3 million PPV buys, and a $55 million live gate. It was one of the highest-grossing combat sports events ever and all due to the trash-talking and marketing of the bout. This is exactly the reason O’Malley is focused on fighting Mayweather.
