Caio Borralho and Jared Cannonier recently had a viral-worthy showdown. Borralho came out on top with the victory over Cannonier along with a nasty scar. He addressed it at the post-fight press conference when the entire internet saw blood trickling down from under the Brazilianโ€™s eye. Here is what happened:

Caio Borralho secured a significant win over Jared Cannonier at UFC Vegas 96. The Brazilian was talking about how he and his team had predicted everything that Cannonier was about to do. This was when blood started trickling down the Brazilian sunglasses. He removed it to reveal the scar Cannonier had left him under his eye.

How you guys think? It’s a good cut, its a good scar to tell the history, you know. Show my kid and say ‘Daddy worked hard to fulfill your dreams, to provide for the family… It’s all good, all good.

The two fighters headlined the main event and went the distance for Borralho to ultimately secure the victory via unanimous decision. The judges scored the fight 49-45, 49-45, and 48-46 in favor of the Brazilian. Borralho had Cannonier in trouble multiple times.

Caio Borralho speaks on a potential fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland

Caio Borralho recently shared his thoughts on the potential middleweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland. Borralho admitted that Du Plessis has an unconventional style. As such, โ€˜Stillknocksโ€™ has managed to remain undefeated in the UFC despite having what the Brazilian described as โ€œbad techniqueโ€ and a โ€œcr*zy style.โ€ Borralho found this impressive.

But MMA is cr*zy. I always bet against Dricus and he always wins, so Iโ€™m not betting on the next one.

However, Borralho also took a somewhat dismissive tone. He said, โ€œLet them kill themselves, and Iโ€™m next,โ€ indicating his focus on being the next title challenger after their potential clash. Now, the South African champion has voiced time and again that he intends to take on Robert Whittaker first before coming to Sean Strickland for a rematch so it will be interesting to see how that plays out for Caio Borralho.
