Quinn Cook breaks down Warriors vs. Celtics Finals, Steph Curry & playing for Coach K | THE HERD

Former NBA and Golden State Warriors player Quinn Cook made a bold comment regarding two top-notch basketball stars of their respective generations, Dwyane Wade and Stephen Curry. Cook claimed on the Dwight Howard, Above the Rim Podcast, that Curry is superior to Wade in the all-time point-guard rankings.

Cook had a conversation with Howard and DeMarcus Cousins, his former colleagues, on Howardโ€™s podcast, โ€œAbove The Rim.โ€ There he referred to Curry as the greatest point guard of all time while comparing the rosters of the 2008 and 2024 Teams USA. Cook pointed out that the 2024 Team USA lineup was superior since it included Curry rather than Wade.

When asked about the all-time point guard selection, Quinn Cook said, โ€œI got Stephย [Curry],โ€ to which Howard responded, ย โ€œSteph is too small for Dwyane Wade. He was the real flash when he (had) the bald head.โ€ Cook quickly made his feelings known as he said, โ€œD-Wade donโ€™t want no parts of Steph, Iโ€™m talking about the number one point guard (hinting towards Curry) of all time.โ€

It is clear that Cook completely respects and admires his former teammate Curryโ€™s abilities over any other player in his position. On the other hand, Cook was a two-way player for the Warriors where the two played together and, because of Curryโ€™s outstanding play, he won an NBA title. It remains to be seen now whether or not one of Curry or Wade responds to these comments made by Cook and Howard or chooses to ignore them.

Quinn Cook once opened up on Stephen Curryโ€™s competitiveness

Quinn Cook, former teammate of the Golden State Warriors legend, Stephen Curry spoke highly about Curry on โ€œThe Herd with Colin Cowherdโ€ show back in 2022. Cook claimed that Curry has a huge competitive nature to his game, and does not want to settle for anything less. In addition, Cook even asserted that Curry does not like to lose, let that be a โ€œshooting contestโ€ or a game of โ€œgolf.โ€

He has a lot of competitive nature to him. He doesn’t wanna lose a shooting competition. He doesn’t wanna lose a round of golf. He’s very, very, very competitive. He understands what he brings to the table, and he does a lot more than shooting threes. Obviously, he’s the best ever at doing that. I got to work with him every day for two years straight.

Cookโ€™s take on Curry does make sense, especially with the legacy that the Warriors legend has gone on to create in the sport for himself and his franchise. In addition, Curry is regarded as the greatest point guard of his generation and one of the all-time greats. It goes beyond his many honors, which include four NBA titles, one MVP award from the Finals, two from the regular season, ten All-Star selections, and ten All-NBA selections.
