Sometimes, enough is enough. On several occasions in the past, ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor has offered critical and unhinged insight into the Dagestani MMA stars. This has all been an extension of his rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Things have gotten worse for wear, with Nurmagomedov finding himself in recent financial trouble. Now, Islam Makhachev strikes back at the Irishman.
Reports emerged that ‘The Eagle’ reportedly owed $3.3 million in taxes to the Federal Tax Service. One-time fighter Ghadzimurad Kagirov was killed in an anti-terror operation and allegedly had links to Khabib’s Eagles MMA. Hence, reportedly, all of Khabib’s personal assets came under attack.
Conor McGregor, as usual, went on a tweet-and-delete spree, mocking Khabib. He even claimed to have offered to buy his seized assets and his family home. In yet another unhinged tweet, he picked at the rival, saying he took a dump on his ancestral home and would need tissues. Having had enough, now Islam Makhachev rubs some salt on the Irishman’s previous wounds.
Taking to his socials on Instagram stories, he posted a snippet of Dustin Poirier piercing through McGregor at UFC 257 and knocking him out. Subsequently, the matter of ‘Notorious’ getting slept has become a cornerstone of a popular meme. The Dagestani fighters and McGregor often goes back-and-forth. Nevertheless, the sudden trolling from Makhachev surprised everyone.
Why did Islam Makhachev choose to take a dig at Conor McGregor again?
Before Islam Makhachev defended his undisputed gold in UFC 302 PPV’s top bill, there were rumors of him having staph. McGregor, as usual, ripped the Dagestani with lewd cultural connotations and disses. Things haven’t really been smooth between Team Khabib and Conor McGregor ever since their general post-fight brawl years back.

Nurmagomedov and McGregor faced off at UFC 229, and the Irishman lost via submission. If there was ever any doubt, UFC ‘Muted 6’ Series – No Commentary proved how expletive it got between the two.
As a matter of fact, Conor McGregor, as he is, maintains similar out-of-pocket sentiments for Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team. The 36-year icon has often praised Trump for loving his country. However, with him praising Khabib, McGregor openly went to publicly humiliate the GOP presidential nominee.

Soon, rival Michael Chandler came to the rescue. However, it did not go well for the American lightweight. McGregor’s diss on Khabib did not sit well with manager Ali Abdelaziz. Soon, Makhachev also chimed in, attacking McGregor on the knockout loss. It remains to be seen when and how the Irishman will respond.
