Had Victor Wembanyama and France finished the night with unreal numbers, which led to the Canadians losing the game, it might not have led to this. After all, basketball fans appreciate a good effort. However, the Canadians’ lack of effort was very obvious in this game. As such, the fans took shots at all the talk they did before the knockout stage. Most notably, perennial trash-talker Dillon Brooks became a target.
