However, Trump doesn’t shy away from sharing his appreciation towards Khabib Nurmagomedov as a fighter and person. McGregor appears to be having trouble with all of this, given that he is the Dagestani’s fiercest adversary.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is Donald Trump’s favorite fighter, and they have great mutual respect. Recently, the presidential candidate did a livestream with Adin Ross, talking about his meeting with Nurmagomedov. Trump said he talked about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war with the ‘Eagle.’ However, as expected, McGregor snapped at this and went on an X spree, roasting Trump for his choice.

McGregor mentioned that Trump shouldn’t have chosen ‘inbred’ Khabib Nurmagomedov as his favorite fighter. According to McGregor, this will affect Trump’s votes from all the American fighters who supported him in the campaign. McGregor didn’t stop there and also talked about Nurmagomedov’s ongoing tax controversy and alleged connection with terrorist attacks.

Years after their UFC 229 fight, it appears that McGregor’s resentment of Nurmagomedov has not yet faded. It was simply one more instance of the fighter’s many outbursts regarding Dagestani in the past. However, in the process, the combatant may be losing track of what’s currently in front of him.

Conor McGregor was expected to make his UFC return earlier this year at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. However, the fight was canceled due to McGregor’s toe injury. This invited a variety of criticism from fans and experts who waited long enough to see him in the octagon. Chandler, who has waited for this opportunity for two years now, is also near exhaustion.

After McGregor roasted Donald Trump for his comments towards Khabib Nurmagomedov, Chandler interfered and mocked the fighter for backing out. The American lightweight came in support of Donald Trump and his choice to pick Nurmagomedov. Chandler further claimed he would beat McGregor if they fought in December.

In response, McGregor said that it’s unlikely that Trump even knows Chandler. The ‘Mystic Mac’ has announced that he will return later in the year. Unless McGregor is totally committed, Dana White and the UFC have no intention of discussing the comeback. The Irishman is aware that the controversy and intrigue surrounding his comeback are subtly building up the excitement surrounding it.
