Nick Diaz was originally scheduled to fight Vicente Luque. However, the fight was canceled due to travel issues. Turns out Dana White will not reschedule the fight, which leaves 41-year-old Diaz without a definite upcoming potential fight.
Magomedov hails from Dagestan, Russia. One would think, he would be apt in wrestling just like his fellow Dagestani compatriots in the promotion. However, the one-eyed Shara ‘Bullet’ beats these stereotypes with a K1 kickboxing record of 18-2-0 (as per his Instagram) and questionable skills on the mat.

With the win against Michal Oleksiejczuk, Shara Magomedov successfully completed three UFC fights with back-to-back wins. This bumped up his undefeated record to 14-0. The fight with Oleksiejczuk went the distance but all three judges handed the Russian a unanimous decision victory.
Does the Russian believe he would be able to remain undefeated after a showdown with 41-year-old Diaz? Magomedov talked about the callout at the post-fight press conference. He believes a potential bout with the UFC legend would boost his popularity in the promotion.
I want to show that if I beat a big name like that, that’s what I need to fly up, to become super popular. So, that’s the last thing I need is just somebody with a huge name like him. I think it’s going to help me become a huge superstar.

Magomedov had suggested a showdown in October which would be at UFC 308. The main card would be headlined by the featherweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Now, it will be interesting to see if Dana White and Co. bring in Diaz to fight against the undefeated Russian in his comeback fight in the promotion.
