The name “Jose Aldo” holds a lot of respect in the UFC. The MMA legend will make his return to the octagon in his late thirties. As per a recent report from AgFight, the Brazilian will make his return to the octagon this time against Mario Bautista at UFC 307.
Jose Aldo is a former UFC featherweight champion. He will now come back, this time in the bantamweight division, to battle it out with 14-2 record holder Mario Bautista. The three-round bantamweight showdown will take place this October at the Delta Center, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The news first came from Ag Fight, later confirmed by both Aldo and Bautista on social media. However, the matchup is yet to be officially announced by the UFC. Aldo’s last fight was earlier this year in May at UFC 301. He fought Jonathan Martinez and went the distance to ultimately grab the victory via unanimous decision. That was Aldo’s first fight since 2022 when he lost to Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision at UFC 278.
During his two-year hiatus, Aldo stepped into the boxing ring. He also became a UFC Hall of Fame inductee in 2023. Meanwhile, Aldo’s opponent Bautista is riding a six-fight winning streak. Other matchups on the fight card include Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling, Chris Curtis vs. Kevin Holland, and Iasmin Lucindo vs. Marina Rodriguez.
