Everybody knows how fit LeBron James is. Even at 39, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar can humble many players half his age. His work ethic and dedication to the craft are legendary stories. Therefore, it was natural for him to bring that same intensity to Team USAโ€™s training camp before the Paris Olympics 2024.

In fact, the intensity was such that NBA Insider Shams Charania had his eyes popping. The Athleticโ€™s Insider was a guest on the show, The OGs Show. There, while talking about the four-time NBA Champion, Charania revealed what made his eyes pop at Team USAโ€™s Olympics training camp.

To last as long as your son. I was at USA training camp. It’s inhumane how he moves.

He suggested that at an age when players slow down considerably, LeBron James is still moving as if he is in his early 30s. This is a testament to his incredible fitness and conditioning, which has enabled him to do so.

To this, co-host and former teammate Mike Miller quipped that he is a โ€˜test tube baby.โ€™ That adds to what Shams Charania was saying that even now, it is incredible to see how fit he is. His athleticism has been displayed at the Paris Olympics 2024 as James was relentless in the first game against Serbia.

Team USA head coach Steve Kerr echoed their points during camp. He had to confirm with both his assistant coaches as they both have experience coaching the four-time NBA Finals MVP. They confirmed that this is how LeBron James has been all throughout his NBA career.

LeBron Jamesโ€™ competitiveness could bode well for Team USA future

If forever rival head coach Steve Kerr noticed it and sought confirmation, it was evident that the other superstars of Team USA would notice how LeBron James prepares. Over the years, it has been noted that the younger players do not take developing their craft as seriously. James has been critical of it in the past.

However, when he performs at his best during these Olympic trainings, it is bound to wear off on the younger stars. That could help them improve their game going forward. If they can even take some critical bits from him and, at the same time, learn from him, they could incorporate those details and elevate their own game.

That could help Team USA down the line. No one, except maybe Anthony Edwards, has the fire to win. They all do their jobs well. But that extra edge is what many are lacking. Stephen Curry, at age 36, was excited to observe it. Maybe the younger stars should follow his lead.
