The fever for Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones is higher than it has ever been. The internet is filled with netizens, demanding a heavyweight showdown between โ€˜Bonesโ€™ and the interim champion. Turns out the majority of people favor the Brit to win over Jon Jones.

Jon Jones was the invincible contender on the UFC roster. However, it seems like people no longer think so. Tom Aspinall is currently leading as the betting favorite between the two. The Englishman put on an incredible performance at the UFC 304 co-main event. He took out opponent Curtis Blaydes in the first round just sixty seconds into the fight.

After the win, Aspinall is now a -150 favorite to defeat Jones (+130) on the online sportsbook BetOnline. Just a year ago, the odds lay at Aspinall listed as a +170 underdog and Jones was a -200 favorite. The Brit has been in the heavyweight division for about four years now. He has lost just once, which was a TKO loss to Curtis Blaydes due to injury.

Meanwhile, Jon Jones came in last year to take on Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title. He was supposed to have his first title defense against Stipe Miocic. However, a pectoral injury forced him to take time off to recover. In the meantime, Tom Aspinall who was supposed to take on the winner, was left without a fight. However, the fight is finally anticipated to take place this November and Tom Aspinall will be the backup fighter for that matchup.

UFC veteran Michael Bisping recently shared his thoughts on the future of the heavyweight division. UFC legend Stipe Miocic and heavyweight champion Jon Jones will headline the Madison Square Garden this November in New York. However, there are ongoing rumors about Jon Jones potentially retiring after the much-anticipated showdown.

Meanwhile, interim champion Tom Aspinall is waiting on the sidelines for a title shot. In his recent YouTube video, Bisping talked about how a potential retirement would affect โ€˜Bonesโ€™ legacy as a champion. He believes that retiring after UFC 309 would leave an everlasting debate on Jonesโ€™s legacy as an โ€œundefeatedโ€ champion without fighting Aspinall.

It would suck. Not only would it suck, but it would also be not the best move for Jon Jones in terms of fan appreciation. The narrative would always be that he was ducking Tom Aspinall.

BISPING reacts: Tom Aspinall the FAVORITE to BEAT THE GOAT! | JON JONES the UNDERDOG

Bisping pointed out that โ€˜Bonesโ€™s inactivity in the heavyweight division makes him an underdog against Aspinall. However, Jones has 15 UFC title wins under his belt. Moreover, Aspinall has yet to go the distance in any of his bouts in the promotion, and Bisping pointed out that he lacked the experience and fight IQ of Jon โ€˜Bonesโ€™ Jones.
