What took fans by surprise was Figueiredo’s interaction with UFC lightweight legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.
UFC on ABC 7 will occur at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Most of the fighters have already traveled there, including Deiveson Figueiredo. Recently, a video went viral showing Khabib Nurmagomedov meeting Figueiredo as the Brazilian shook hands with the former champ. Nurmagomedov welcomed the fighter to his gym, implying that he had helped Figueiredo train ahead of the fight.

In the main event, Umar Nurmagomedov, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin, will fight Cory Sandhagen in a bantamweight clash. The’Eagle’ has been training Umar Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi for the fight. The UFC Hall of Famer is extremely serious about his cousin’s training camp. A win can potentially get Nurmagomedov close to a title shot in the future.
Khabib Nurmagomedov recently made headlines for helping Belal Muhammad make a game plan against Leon Edwards at UFC 304. Due to all those hardcore training sessions with Team Khabib, Muhammad looked way better and managed to take home the belt. Given his reputation, it shouldn’t be surprising to see Figueiredo getting help from the Dagestani ahead of his future challenges.
