It looks like the fan-favorite popular Scouser is here to stay. One more sleep and Paddy Pimblett meets King Green on the UFC 304 pay-per-view main card. The up-and-comer can rest easy and build upon his legacy. This week, Paddy Pimblett said something was being made out of nothing about his contractual rehashing. As it turns out, he was right.

Before Fight Week, he openly said it was the last fight in his contract. He even quipped on ending up fighting YouTubers in the meantime. With even 155-pound veteran Green saying he would be ready for a fifty-first pro fight at UFC 305, ‘Baddy’ would want more. He is 5-0 inside the octagon so far and is still a long way to go. Turns out, he’d have that chance.

Daniel Cormier was the first to report the re-signing of the lightweight star. He mentioned that Pimblett had inked a new deal on the official UFC 304 Morning weigh-in show. Additionally, his manager, Cage Warriors promoter Graham Boylan, also confirmed that his client had re-upped.

Earlier in the week, Pimblett lamented the news cycle’s focus and said he might be out. On Wednesday’s Media Day, he said he wasn’t leaving UFC; now he sticks to it. His pivotal bout with King Green could finally see him enter the Top 15 fold of divisional Athlete Rankings after all. The terms of Pimblett’s contract are not public yet, but come UFC 304, it’s business as usual.

‘Kingslayer’ Paddy Pimblett makes weight for absolute barnburner with veteran

UFC 304 at Co-op Live sees longtime lightweight veteran King Green (32-15-1 MMA, 13-10-1 UFC) meet Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett in the third-last scrap of the night. Pimblett joined the banner in 2021 with plenty of hype behind him as England’s Cage Warriors’ top crop. He is on a stout winning streak, including a recent lopsided decision win over another fan-favorite veteran, Tony Ferguson.

Much is usually made about the Liverpudlian carrying a thick frame around his hefty face and a bulky midriff before camp. Pimblett, 29, is prone to be subject to fan quips about being borderline high-weight. Sure enough, though, he always gets in shape during camp.

During his fight week exclusive with Nik Hobbs for Sky Sports (@SkySports) on the MMA podcast, he also mentioned battling mental health issues. However, the Scouse sensation stepped on the scale at the official weigh-ins and made weight.

The UFC 304 ceremonial weigh-ins commenced at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT). The live video stream of the proceedings took place at Co-Op Live itself, the venue of the fight. Pimblett, the lightweight from nearby Liverpool, tipped the scales at exactly 156 lbs. King Green came in at 154.5 lbs.
