Tom Aspinall SPILLS TRUTH about punching in 'petrol can' ahead of UFC 304 fight

Tom Aspinall is in good spirits ahead of his interim heavyweight title defense against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Taking place in Manchester, Aspinall will have the local crowd backing him against the challenger. Before that, Aspinall had some important business to take care of for the fight fans.

At the start of the training camp for UFC 304, Tom Aspinall woke up before sunrise and trained because of irregular timing. On top of that, he also revealed using old gypsy techniques to harden his knuckles by dipping them in petrol. It caught the attention of many, but as it turns out, it was all a sham. The British fighter recently posted a video on his YouTube channel putting an end to the gag.

It’s just water. It was all a big f***** joke. We gotta drop the gag cause people think it’s serious.

Aspinall made those claims during his interview with popular MMA reporter Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. This time, while telling the truth, the British fighter face-timed Helwani in the middle of the night to show the whole thing. It was a hilarious joke nonetheless by Aspinall, and many fans actually fell for it.

On the other hand, Aspinall has now claimed to give the UK fans the greatest walkout in UFC history. It will be interesting to see if he sticks to his promises and doesn’t pull out another major joke. Nevertheless, Aspinall is pretty confident about his chances against his old rival Blaydes and excited about fulfilling his childhood dream.

What was Tom Aspinall’s childhood dream?

Tom Aspinall has had an impressive run in the UFC and holds the interim heavyweight championship with a record of 7-1. He only had one loss from his first fight with Curtis Blaydes, where he injured his knee. The British fighter wanted to fight Jon Jones for the title unification bout, but that didn’t happen. Aspinall accused Jones of ducking and slowing down the division for others.

Many fans also felt the same way by criticizing the undisputed heavyweight champion. With UFC 304, Aspinall was disappointed fighting Blaydes instead of Jones. However, he has swallowed the pill and remains happy with fighting in Manchester. According to Aspinall, it has always been a childhood dream.

I’m extremely lucky to say that, no matter what happens on Saturday night. I’m literally living my dream on Saturday night and I feel very very grateful to be able to do that. Like me defending an UFC title in Manchester that is literally my dream. It literally(childhood dream) is.

With a win over Blaydes at UFC 304, Aspinall would further solidify his position as the number one contender. Jones will potentially fight Stipe Miocic this November at the MSG. With both fighters winning their respective fight, fans could see a mega fight early next year.
