The aftermath of Fanmio‘s first foray into martial arts/boxing doesn’t look so good. The 11-bout Fanmio Pay-per-view card saw Nate Diaz edge out Jorge Masvidal in the top bill. Now, Diaz has filed in the U.S. District Court in Miami, claiming Fanmio CEO and founder Solomon Engel has committed breach of contract.
Diaz defeated Jorge Masvidal by a 10-round majority decision in their Fanmio Pay-per-view headliner. All looked good, with the 39-year-old making it an even 1-1, counting their inaugural BMF clash. Now, TMZ.com reports that Diaz says Engel is unwilling to pay compensation of $10 million. He has allegedly received only $1 million out of it, but Engel denies it.

Even without clinical deductions, royalties, perpetuity payouts, and licensing, the duo was to bank a combined $800k in estimated payouts. The matter of snubbing millions makes it more serious. Engel’s statement refers to a seven-figure payday, which is consistent with Diaz’s claim. However, the deposition does not mention the $10 million Diaz claimed, according to the lawsuit.
Additionally, per Diaz, Engel said he would renege on their agreements because “his wife could divorce him because of the financial loss.” Diaz (1-1 boxing, 21-13 MMA) outpointed ‘Gamebred’ via majority decision (95-95, 97-93, 98-92). However, the Fanmio CEO supposedly said he did not surpass expectations. Engel snipes back at the ‘salacious’ and out-of-pocket claims.

Nate Diaz lost out via third-round TKO at UFC 244 in his bid to win the inaugural BMF belt. Now that the Stockton star has tied up the score with Jorge Masvidal, why not do it against Jake Paul? The cycle of revenge would be backward, though, because the cruiserweight pugilist defeated him in boxing the first time.

Surprisingly, Diaz refused. Not surprisingly, he lives to his own beat. Paul pitches in with Diaz, claiming Fanmio has swindled him out of millions in paydays. However, he warns that yesterday’s price tag is not today’s.

Unlike Masvidal, Diaz completed his UFC contract before going free agency, ending on a high note. He called quits after defeating Tony Ferguson via a fourth-round guillotine choke at UFC 279. He has since long been keen on a MMA return. Now, it remains to be seen if ‘Problem Child’ and a hefty payday is what tempts him to return.
