Spain and England locked horns at the Olympia Stadium in Berlin for the final match of the Euro 2024. The mega event attracted some of the biggest celebrities from around the world. It also included the current UFC lightweight champion and pound-for-pound king, Islam Makhachev.
Spain won the match, defeating England 2-1 and taking home the championship trophy. However, what piqued the interest of fight fans was a photo of Islam Makhachev seated alongside other celebrities. The photo featured British music artist Harry Styles and famous host James Corden. On top of that, British Formula One driver George Russell sat in front of Makhachev.
Given they all came to support England, it might not have been a pleasant night for any of them. It was England’s consecutive loss in the Euro final, following their last defeat in 2021 against Italy. Although it’s hard to tell which team Makhachev supported, given his Instagram stories, the fighter’s affiliation remains unknown.
Makhachev has always been a fan of football and once chose the Spanish league, La Liga, over the Premier League. The Dagestani frequently competes with his coach and UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov in football matches during their training camps. Nevertheless, the image of Makhachev sitting around the other celebs did catch the attention of many on the internet.

Islam Makhachev’s last fight was at UFC 302, where he beat top challenger Dustin Poirier to defend his lightweight title. After that, the fighter expressed his desire to move up to the welterweight division. Although there has not been any official announcement, the Dagestani champion might return later this year for his second bout.
