American tennis legend Serena Williams took a brutal dig at NBA legend LeBron James as she joked about the 39-year-old sharing the court with his son Bronny James. Williams drew a parallel between her winning a Grand Slam title with “her daughter in her belly” and James going to share the court with his son.
Speaking at the ESPN’s ESPY Awards on Thursday, Williams left everyone floored with her humor. The 42-year-old got a chance for a monologue speech to kick off the event and Serena used the stage to her advantage. She cracked jokes about almost everyone, and James was the center of attention.
After her monologue speech, the American tennis legend came back on the stage with her sister Venus Williams, and actress Quinta Brunson, to talk about the “extremely physical” aspect of women’s sports. While Serena started by taking a sly dig at Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert for their on-court ugly brawl from the last season, she quickly moved to James.
Women’s games are extremely physical. LeBron wants to win with his son on his team. I won with my daughter in my belly. I think we know which one is way more impressive.

I truly hope Bronny has a long career… so long that he will see his hairline recede, then, miraculously unrecede, like dad.
