Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars in the world of combat sports. Whatever he does, people expect it to be a major event. Make it a crossover event, and the hype increases much more. As a result, the Irish superstar is currently aiming to do the same alongside undefeated boxing champion Terence Crawford.
Crawford recently revealed that he received a two-fight offer from Turki Alalshikh to fight Conor McGregor. The multi-divisional champion claimed that he declined the offer because he did not want to get kicked and elbowed by McGregor. However, the ‘Notorious’ has now revealed the exact money, which has ‘Bud’ contemplating his choices.
Crawford commented ‘tempted’ when McGregor revealed the humongous amount. $200 million is a large chunk of money that the boxer may find difficult to part with. Only fighting someone like Canelo Alvarez will earn Crawford that money in boxing. While few fans are skeptical of the money involved, the support of Saudi delegates paints a persuasive picture.

McGregor was the first to share these discussions on a Duelbits live stream. He has prior experience with crossover fights, having met Floyd Mayweather in a 2017 boxing match, which he lost via TKO. McGregor’s boxing record is 0-1, and he has previously expressed interest in competing again amidst his UFC comeback saga.
Terence Crawford gives Muhammad Ali example for not fighting Conor McGregor
Terence Crawford is one of few boxers who theoretically has the chance to survive inside a MMA octagon. Crawford has a basic wrestling history from his childhood in Nebraska. However, he has not pursued it competitively as he has with the NCAA or Olympic wrestlers. His early wrestling experience has enhanced his speed and footwork in boxing.
Crawford is well aware of Conor McGregor‘s lack of wrestling pedigree and is confident about rolling with ‘Mystic Mac.’ On the other hand, he isn’t ignorant about McGregor’s kicking abilities. While explaining this to Joe Rogan, Crawford shared why he doesn’t want to fight in MMA.
The fight that Crawford talked about took place in 1976 when Muhammad Ali fought Japanese fighter Antonio Inoki. The mixed-style fight ended in a draw; however, Ali suffered massive damage to his legs. He suffered from blood clots and nerve damage in his legs. It seems like Crawford has taken his lessons from history and doesn’t want to go through the same.
